Another great day of learning and preparing for our students!

A sincere thank you to First Baptist Church of High Island for providing an outstanding lunch for our staff. We truly appreciate your generosity and continued support of High Island ISD.

We also want to thank Rob Flores, Texas Education Agency School Safety Agent with the Office of School Safety and Security, for leading our Standard Response Protocol (SRP) training. His expertise and guidance helped equip our staff with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations.

We are grateful for the community partners and state leaders who invest their time and expertise in helping us provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff.

We’re excited to welcome our Cardinals back for another great year!

Here are a few important reminders as we get ready for the first day of school:

📍 Students may arrive on campus beginning at 7:15 a.m. ⏰ The tardy bell rings at 7:30 a.m. 🍎 Every student will have a designated breakfast time each morning. 🎒 Dismissal is at 3:45 p.m.

We can’t wait to see everyone back on the Hill. Let’s make it a great year because Every Cardinal Counts!

What an incredible way to kick off the 2026–2027 school year!

This morning’s Convocation was a great start to a new year centered around our theme, Every Cardinal Counts. It was an opportunity to come together as a team, prepare for the year ahead, and celebrate the community that stands behind our students and staff.

We were honored to have members of our Board of Trustees with us, along with a special visit from the Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Your presence this morning meant a great deal, and we appreciate your encouragement as we begin a new school year.

We are grateful to the Bolivar Peninsula Lighthouse Krewe and Second Goings for their generous donation. Investments like these create opportunities that directly benefit our school.

Our staff also completed CPR, First Aid, AED, and Stop the Bleed training thanks to Galveston County ESD #2. We appreciate your time and expertise in helping us ensure our campuses remain as safe as possible.

The day was made even better with breakfast tacos from Yellow Rose Meat Market and delicious lunch from Cattlemen’s Kitchen provided by East Chambers County Bank. Your generosity and partnership are sincerely appreciated.

High Island ISD is fortunate to be surrounded by people and organizations who care deeply about our schools. We are excited to welcome our Cardinals back next week and begin a year filled with learning, growth, and opportunity.

📣 Reminder! Meet the Cardinals is Thursday, July 30, at 6:00 PM in the High Island ISD Cafeteria!

Join us as we kick off the new school year and meet our teachers, coaches, staff, and athletes. Whether you're new to High Island ISD or a longtime Cardinal, we'd love to see you there!

🌭 The Cardinal Club will be serving hot dogs, chips, and water for everyone to enjoy.

🧢 Don't forget to stop by and grab one of our new Adidas High Island Cardinal hats for $25 each! We only have a limited supply, and they'll be sold until they run out, so come early if you want one.
