Letter from the Superintendent
Dear High Island ISD Families, Staff, Students, and Community,
It is truly an honor to serve as your superintendent and to be a part of this incredible community. From my very first days on "The Hill", I have been welcomed with kindness, encouragement, and a genuine sense of family. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside such dedicated educators, supportive families, and an amazing community that clearly cares about its children.
As both an educator, mother, and grandmother, I understand the trust families place in our schools each day. My husband and I are blessed with five children and five grandchildren, and they remind me daily why this work is so important. Every child deserves a safe, supportive environment where they are challenged to grow, encouraged to dream, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
With more than 25 years in public education, I have had the privilege of serving in many roles. Each role has reinforced my belief that relationships are the foundation of a successful school district. When we work together with a shared purpose, there is no limit to what our students can accomplish.
At High Island ISD, our guiding belief is simple: Every Cardinal Counts! Those words are more than a slogan, they represent our commitment to ensuring every student is known, valued, and given the opportunity to succeed. We will continue to focus on academic excellence, student growth, safe schools, strong character, and preparing every graduate for success in college, careers, military service, and life.
As we look to the future, I am excited about the opportunities ahead. Together, we will honor the traditions that make High Island special while embracing new possibilities that strengthen our schools and create even greater opportunities for our students.
