High Island ISD is committed to ensuring Every Cardinal Counts by using federal program funds to support student achievement, strengthen instruction, and provide meaningful educational opportunities for all students.

Federal programs provide supplemental resources to address identified student and district needs. Through responsible planning, stakeholder input, and the coordinated use of federal funds, High Island ISD works to improve academic outcomes, support effective educators, and prepare students for future success.

Federal Program Notices

ESSA Federal Programs

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), reauthorized as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), provides federal funding to support high-quality instruction and improve academic outcomes for all students.

High Island ISD participates in the following ESSA entitlement programs:

  • Title I, Part A
  • Title II, Part A
  • Title III, Part A
  • Title IV, Part A

These funds support supplemental educational services, professional development, instructional resources, parent and family engagement activities, and other allowable programs designed to improve student achievement.

Private Nonprofit School Participation

Private nonprofit schools within the district boundaries may be eligible to participate in federally funded services through equitable services provisions under ESSA.
